The report "The climate has changed. Time to act. The Italian fashion industry on the road to a sustainable future" is the first publication produced by Carbonsink dedicated to the Italian fashion and luxury industry.
The study conducted by Carbonsink focuses on a sample of companies representing around 90 Italian fashion brands. Through the collection and evaluation of publicly available information (e.g., Sustainability Report, Non-Financial Statement, et cetera), Carbonsink examined the commitments and actions of the sample companies in the fight against climate change, with the aim of improving the understanding of how the sector address the challenges posed by the climate transition.
The study adopts the methodology developed and applied in the Carbonsink report "The perception of climate risk of companies listed on the FTSE MIB" (1st ed. 2019, 2nd ed. 2020 produced in collaboration with Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei), adapting it to the specifics of the sector. The macro-areas under analysis are the four areas indicated in the Recommendations of the Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures , TCFD (Governance, Strategy, Risk Management, Metrics and Targets). The fifth macro-area Advocacy has been added to consider the commitment of companies to proactively promote stakeholder engagement initiatives or implement concrete actions for sustainable development.
The publication is available in English.
