The perception of the Company's climate risk listed on the Italian Stock Exchange: Carbonsink event
Also this year Carbonsink renews its participation in the new edition of the CSR and social innovation show, scheduled for October 1st and 2nd at the Bocconi University in Milan.
The title given to the seventh edition of the event, "The territories of sustainability", reflects the main objective of the event: a journey along Italy to discover innovative experiences and a journey through the territories of the mind, geographies of thought where ideas they are born, grow and transform. The territory as a physical space to be preserved and enhanced but also as an ideal space to cultivate so that sustainability becomes a value for everyone.
Carbonsink for the 2019 edition of the Show organizes "The perception of the climate risk of listed companies on the Italian Stock Exchange", an event scheduled for 2 October from 11.30 to 12.30, where we will present the first index of perception of its risk exposure climate of companies listed on the Italian stock exchange (FTSE MIB).
The objective of this project was to develop an illustrative report capable of bridging an information gap and providing a clear picture to investors, citizens and policy makers, on the degree of responsiveness of companies to climate change and sustainable development. The Carbonsink Report intends to contribute to the promotion of environmental responsibility in companies, encouraging large multinational companies to adopt sustainable practices and integrate sustainability information into their annual reports.
After an introduction by Carbonsink on the importance of the disclosure of non-financial information relating to the climate for businesses, and how and why the idea of publishing a Report on this issue was born; the event involves the involvement of all those subjects who contributed to the realization and publication of the study. These include the Global Compact Network Italy Foundation, Morningstar, Sustainalytics and Bureau Veritas.
As a Carbonsink technical partner, this year too he will be in charge of offsetting the CO2 emissions generated by the trips made by the speakers to reach the CSR show, through a questionnaire to be submitted to all the speakers.
The impact quantification method is based on the ISO 14064-I standard. The calculation of the kilometers traveled with each vehicle, to reach the event location, will be carried out by Carbonsink through online Mapping services. Once the total emissions relating to the speakers' transports have been calculated (in Kg of CO2 eq.), These emissions are neutralized through the use of certified carbon credits. These credits will be canceled from the public register in the name and on behalf of the speakers participating in the 2019 edition of the CSR and social innovation show.
The Carbonsink event is free entry.
